The Spark: Chance and a Promise
Fast-Dogs began with a moment no dog owner ever wants to face. At a public dog event, his beloved dachshund, Chance, was attacked. Shock and anger quickly turned into a firm promise: no dog under his watch would ever be put in that position again.
From that day forward, he committed to creating a place where safety is not optional or “nice to have,” but the foundation of everything—where small dogs, big dogs, and every dog in between can run, play, and compete without fear.
From Service Member to Canine Guardian
“Dad” entered the U.S. Air Force in October 1974, beginning a career built on discipline, responsibility, and mission-focused planning. He served his country until October 1985, when he was medically retired due to legal blindness—a life-changing moment that did not weaken his resolve, but redirected it.
He spent his military years protecting people and critical assets on a national scale; now he applies that same mindset to protecting dogs through facilities built on structure, safety, and preparedness. His service background shaped an approach where nothing important is left to chance: clear protocols, thoughtful design, and the belief that if something is worth defending, it deserves the very best safeguards available.
In April 2018, he moved to Saint Hedwig, Texas, bringing his vision with him and planting the seeds of what would become Fast-Dogs in the community he now calls home.

👨✈️ About Our Founder: “Dad” A Legacy of Protection
Every mission needs a leader. For Fast-Dogs, that leader is simply known as “Dad.” The name reflects who he is at his core: a protector, a provider, and a steady presence for both his family and every dog that steps onto a Fast-Dogs field.
Born on July 5, 1955, “Dad” learned early the value of hard work, loyalty, and standing up for those who cannot protect themselves. These values would shape every chapter of his life, from military service to his work with dogs.
Chance & Dad The First day we met
Building a Safer World for Dods,
“Dad’s” vision for Fast-Dogs flows directly from who he is:
Uncompromising safety: Facilities are designed with secure, size-separated play zones, controlled entries, and event procedures inspired by real-world risk management, not guesswork.
Fair competition: His sense of fairness led to the Fast-Dogs Kennel Club (FKC) size-based racing system, where every dog competes on a level playing field and truly has a chance to shine.
Real community: Just as he fostered camaraderie in his units, he is building a supportive, respectful community of dog owners who come together to learn, train, and celebrate their dogs.
“It’s not just about speed; it’s about giving every dog the freedom to be their best—safely.”
The Guardian of the Mission .
“Dad” is more than a founder; he is the guardian of the Fast-Dogs mission. His story—spanning military service, medical retirement, a move to Saint Hedwig, and a renewed purpose in protecting dogs—is proof that service, passion, and love for country, family, and animals can be woven into something that makes the world safer and happier, one dog at a time.
